Volusion Gold Level… And Silver Level… And Platinum…

Posted: Wednesday, April 14, 2010 in Collectibles, Volusion Site Design

Okay… so we know we went all gaga yesterday about the candy site and who could blame us?  Everyone likes candy, right?  Well today we may have something that’s slightly better… GOLD!

We’re proud to announce the launch of Upstate Coin & Gold Center’s new Volusion store!  Operating their brick and mortar store in Fayetteville NY since 1979, Upstate Coin has grown into a major wholesaler with a well established reputation as a reliable and knowledgeable dealer of collectible coins and precious metals.

… you know how we’re always talking about the nice gifts and product samples our clients are always sending us?  Well, we can only assume that the gift bag of gold coins is in the mail.  Right?

Congratulations on your new Volusion site, Upstate Coin!

Great Scott! Volusion Goes Back to the Future

Posted: Thursday, April 8, 2010 in Collectibles, Film, Volusion Site Design

As we mentioned in this post, we’ve been working on a new site for BTTF.net that is both rad and totally awesome.  Well, it’s the future now and the new site is live!

BTTF.net is your one-stop shop for all things having to do with the timeless Back to the Future trilogy.  Need a factory-sealed copy of the BTTF game for your NES?  They’ve got it.  How about a BTTF pill box?  Check.

Now, we could certainly fill this blog with the dozens and dozens of Back to the Future jokes that occurred to us when we sat down to write this, but for the sake of retaining some small scrap of dignity, we’ll refrain.

… you’re waiting for a joke, aren’t you?  We said we were going to refrain and we meant it.

… still no jokes.  Seriously.

… we’re not kidding.  Just go visit BTTF.net.  It’s your density… uh, we mean destiny.

Brand Labs Brings Jailbreak Collective to Volusion

Posted: Tuesday, March 23, 2010 in Collectibles, Volusion Site Design, Web Design

We enjoy each and every one of our launches, but there’s something especially fun about launching a toy-related site, so it is with gleeful pride that we announce the launch of the brand-spankin’-new Jailbreak Collective Volusion site.

You may recognize Jailbreak for their signature product: the Obama action figure.  What you may not know is that they’re a company with a mission.  They intend to be smart and fun simultaneously, without ever condescending or pandering.  Pretty damn fancy talk for a toy company, but they prefer to refer to their offerings as “Product Art” and we heartily concur… and not just because we may or may not have a small collection of vinyl “Product Art” in a hermetically-sealed display cabinet.

While we’re talking about Jailbreak, we’d like to mention that we also did their blog, which is one of the bestest blogs we’ve been involved with.  It’s got great content about art, design and collectibles.  It’s highly bookmarkable.

Welcome to the family, Jailbreak!

The Future (and Past) of Back to the Future (In Button Form)

Posted: Wednesday, March 10, 2010 in Collectibles, Just For Fun

We’re currently designing a new Volusion site for BTTF.net – an entire site devoted to products, props and memorabilia related to the Back to the Future films (their current site can be found here).  The new design is, frankly, totally rad, but we’re not gonna show you just yet, because if there’s anything we like more than good design, it’s teasing total strangers.  We’ll post about it when it launches, but in the meantime, what we are willing to show you is our own, personal collection of pins from the 80’s (with a little 70’s and 90’s thrown in for good measure).

We’ll start this dorkfest with the button on the left, presented to any hardcore nerds willing to sit through all three BTTF films in one sitting (on the occasion of the release of BTTF III).  We are just that type of nerd.

Hit the jump to see the rest of the collection…

Coming Soon to Volusion: Model Roundup

Posted: Friday, March 5, 2010 in Collectibles, Design, Volusion Site Design, Web Design

We admit it.  We’re jumping the gun a bit on this one because it’s so damn good-looking…

Some time in the near future, Model Roundup (here’s a link to their old site) will be launching their new Volusion site.  Normally we wait until the big switch to bring a new design to your attention, but this one is just dying to see the light of day and we couldn’t resist.  It’s also a nice opportunity for you to see a bit of before and after, in case you’re ever wondering about the merit of good design when it comes to branding and credibility.

We’ll probably post about this one again when it actually launches, because we can’t get enough of it, but for now, you can just Revell* in this sneak peek.

*That’s not a misspelling… trust us.  The model nerds are cracking up at that.
