One of our recent new site launches, ScrubsMax, came with an interesting Merchandising and Development challenge. Because they offer such a wide range of colors and styles, they wanted to ensure that their customers, when buying (for instance) a pink colored top, could easily find a coordinating pair of pink pants. With this specific need in mind, our Developers (working in conjunction with our Merchandising department) created a tool that builds on Volusion’s built-in product suggestion option. Now, when you’re shopping the site, once you find an item you like and you choose a color, the suggested products at the bottom of the product page will change to match your choice, simplifying the shopping process for the consumer. Now you can choose a full outfit without leaving the product page! Imagine the possibilities for your business…
This project is a virtual case study in both the importance of proper merchandising and our ability to bend Volusion to meet the needs of your business model.
… whoops. We accidentally made this post all about us. Let’s bring it back around to the nice folks at ScrubsMax. Welcome!

You may remember that some time ago, we launched the site for Jay McCarroll, the winner of Project Runway’s first season. Well, a couple of days ago, our circle of celebrity fashion friends grew as we launched StyleQ.com.
StyleQ brings celebrity style to the public by working with featured stylists from the entertainment industry. Their inaugural stylist is Monica Rose, who provides Catt Sadler (of the E! Network’s Daily 10) with her signature look. Upcoming featured stylists include Oakley Stevenson (of A&E) and Jose Camilo (also from E!).
Our goal is to eventually have a fashion client from every basic cable network. We currently have our sites set on the stylist who provides the hip waders to the guys on Deadliest Catch.
UPDATE: StyleQ was featured on the E! Network just this morning. Better get over there and buy some stuff now before they’re too cool to even talk to you anymore.

Among our launches this past week was BornOnEarthKids.com. While their shirts are 100% organic, we’re pretty sure there’s some sort of genetic engineering going on over there. Those kids on the site are waaaaaay too cute to be all natural. We believe they were built in some sort of adorableness research lab, by scientists with PHDs in delightfulness.
… the shirts are pretty cute, too.

Last week, a new destination for the fashionistas of the world went live: The Colony. The collection of men’s and women’s apparel was gathered together by Jay McCarroll, whose own line is the flagship for the new store.
McCarroll, who won Bravo’s Project Runway in its first season and was the subject of the recent documentary “Eleven Minutes”, launched the new store to showcase his ready-to-wear work as well as that of other designers, chosen, as he says, “for their super style and uniquenessity.” We’re proud and happy to welcome Jay McCarroll and The Colony to the Brand Labs family!

This morning, we were pleased to add another member to our ever-expanding family: Angel Handbags! This great new site specializes in handbags by emerging designers and smaller, hard-to-find brands. We simply couldn’t be more pleased to have been a part of the launch of this beautiful boutique. We’d love to stick around and chat about it, but we have a sudden need to go purse shopping…
