Rugged Bear Launches New Volusion Store

Posted: Wednesday, May 26, 2010 in Apparel, Volusion Site Design

We’re very proud to announce our latest Volusion site launch: Rugged Bear.

For those who don’t ever get out to the East Coast, Rugged Bear is a long standing and beloved chain of 29 brick and mortar stores catering to New England’s outdoorsiest and most fashionable kids.  Though they’ve had an online presence for some time, this new Volusion store marks a strong move to expand that presence and capitalize on their well-established local reputation as they try to capture a larger national market share.  With annual sales in the tens of millions, they’re pretty well positioned to do so.

Enough business talk… look how freaking awesome this sweater is!

Sorry.  Got a little sidetracked by the awesome sweater.  Welcome to the Brand Labs family, Rugged Bear!

Geez, Volusion… Why Don’t You Just Marry Us Already?

Posted: Friday, May 21, 2010 in Partners, Testimonials, Volusion, Volusion Site Design

Volusion just launched their new website and we’re pretty sure they’re hitting on us.

If you click around the site, you’ll get to see a decent amount of Brand Labs designs mixed in as examples of the sort of fantastic sites that can be created for the platform… including the most prominent example on the landing page for the Showcase Gallery itself: National Geographic UK.  That’s one of ours!

Also, though they’re a bit harder to make out in the background, they’ve also included the Red Hat Society Store and EcoMowers.com, two of our oldest clients.

And Now For Something Completely Different…

Posted: Monday, May 10, 2010 in Spiritual, Volusion Site Design

We mostly design online stores.  That’s gotta be pretty obvious by now.  We can’t shut up about it, in fact.  We’re always, “Volustion store this” and “Volusion store that“.  We’re sure that it gets pretty tiresome for you, so we thought we’d mix it up a bit today, and in that spirit we present Temple Adat Elohim.

Temple Adat Elohim is a temple (surprise!)  It’s not a store and as a matter of fact, they don’t currently have much of anything for sale on the site.  It is, however, built entirely on the Volusion platform.  This move represents some serious forward-thinking on the part of the Temple.  They knew that eventually, they would want to expand their online merchandise offering and by building their main site on a very versatile shopping cart, they’re ready to do so at the drop of a yarmulke.

This seems like the perfect time to point out (for those who don’t know) that our site is built on the Volusion platform.  Our motivations for this move were similar to the Temple’s.  We knew that eventually we would want to engage in some direct-to-consumer product sales that didn’t require the involvement of our sales staff and we wanted to be ready for that day… plus we also wanted to show off our sick Volusion skills.

So the lesson here?  No matter what your current intentions are, you should always build your site on a shopping platform… specifically on Volusion.

… and would it kill you to call your mother?

Volusion Goes Fishing in Silver Creek

Posted: Tuesday, May 4, 2010 in Sporting Goods, Volusion Site Design

New Volusion Site for Silver Creek OutfittersMichigan is an outdoorsy state.  We camp.  We hike.  We definitely fish.  Being surrounded by the largest supply of fresh water in the world makes fishing almost a requirement.  Sometimes, you’ll just be driving around Michigan, minding your own business, not really paying attention to anything in particular, when – before you know it – you’re wearing hip waders and complaining about how nothing’s biting today.  That’s just how it goes around here.

This spontaneous need to fish is part of the reason we’re so pleased to present Silver Creek Outfitter’s new Volusion store.  Covering everything from hunting and fishing supplies to apparel, accessories and accouterments for the avid sportsman/woman, Silver Creek is a one-stop shop for those who spend a great deal of time communing  with the natural world.  Just look at that shot of the website… you can almost hear the crickets and feel the dusky breeze on your face.

… that reminds us.  We gotta go fishing.  Welcome to the Brand Labs family, Silver Creek!

Supply Ways Launches New Volusion Store

Posted: Monday, May 3, 2010 in Office Supplies, Volusion Site Design

We design, develop and launch so darn many stores that every once in a while, one escapes the notice of this remorseful blogger.  SupplyWays.com is just such a site.

You’ll see that under the category tags for this post, it’s listed under: Site Launches – Office Supplies, but that’s only because we don’t have an “Everything Supplies” category.  Basically, if you have a business that requires supplies of any kind, Supply Ways should be able to hook you up.  Healthcare, Janitorial, Manufacturing, Office… the list just goes on and on.

So, we offer a heartfelt (and belated) congratulations to SupplyWays.com on their new Volusion store!

Volusion Runs to Surf City

Posted: Friday, April 30, 2010 in Events, Sporting Goods, Testimonials, Volusion Site Design

Our latest site launch, RunSurfCity.com, is among our more unique offerings.  Part brochure site, part eCommerce store, part event registration, RunSurfCity is a hybrid, running entirely on Volusion.

This content-rich site was a bit of a structural anomaly, as it revolves entirely around a single annual event.  Visitors to the site can learn about the event and its history, register to participate and buy Surf City Marathon-related merchandise.  If nothing else, it proves that Volusion allows for a wide range of business models and does so seamlessly (with a little assist from our custom development team).

We’re pretty excited about the site and as we sit here in Michigan, where the sun has only recently returned from its winter vacation, we’re completely seduced by the images of sandy beaches and the crystal-clear Pacific (not to mention the promise of free beer).  Plus, we should probably be considering a plan to work off the goodies from our previous post.  As for how the client feels about the site?  We’ll let them speak for themselves:

“The Brand Labs team exceeded our very high expectations for design and custom development. We enjoyed working with the Brand Labs team and plan to utilize their services for additional store designs.”

– Don Gerould; Surf City USA Marathon

Welcome to the Brand Labs Family, Surf City!  We look forward to a long and sunny relationship!

Volusion Gold Level… And Silver Level… And Platinum…

Posted: Wednesday, April 14, 2010 in Collectibles, Volusion Site Design

Okay… so we know we went all gaga yesterday about the candy site and who could blame us?  Everyone likes candy, right?  Well today we may have something that’s slightly better… GOLD!

We’re proud to announce the launch of Upstate Coin & Gold Center’s new Volusion store!  Operating their brick and mortar store in Fayetteville NY since 1979, Upstate Coin has grown into a major wholesaler with a well established reputation as a reliable and knowledgeable dealer of collectible coins and precious metals.

… you know how we’re always talking about the nice gifts and product samples our clients are always sending us?  Well, we can only assume that the gift bag of gold coins is in the mail.  Right?

Congratulations on your new Volusion site, Upstate Coin!

Vol-Ooh-La-Lusion… Ooh La La Candy Launches New Volusion Store

Posted: Tuesday, April 13, 2010 in Food, Gifts, Volusion Site Design

Sure, we’re always happy to launch a new store.  Each of our customers brings something new and exciting to the table.  We’ve learned a lot about shelving, lighting, sports apparel, lingerie, home and garden gifts, shore excursions, t shirts, mixed martial arts and a hundred other things… but THIS IS CANDY! C’mon… CANDY!  Who doesn’t love candy?

Mmmmmm… candy.

Anyhoo, we’re (obviously) happy to announce the launch of Ooh La La Candy!  With a variety of gift assortments and candy-filled greeting cards, Ooh La La has something for every occasion, but their premier product is clearly their candy cupcake: a whimsical novelty treat that is an absolute delight to receive.  We say that from experience.

As we’ve mentioned in previous posts (here and here), there’s little that we enjoy more than surprise packages filled with tasty treats and the nice folks at Ooh La La were kind enough to launch their site design project with a box full of their delicious wares.  Hit the jump to see a sample of their adorable offerings out in the wild…

Great Scott! Volusion Goes Back to the Future

Posted: Thursday, April 8, 2010 in Collectibles, Film, Volusion Site Design

As we mentioned in this post, we’ve been working on a new site for BTTF.net that is both rad and totally awesome.  Well, it’s the future now and the new site is live!

BTTF.net is your one-stop shop for all things having to do with the timeless Back to the Future trilogy.  Need a factory-sealed copy of the BTTF game for your NES?  They’ve got it.  How about a BTTF pill box?  Check.

Now, we could certainly fill this blog with the dozens and dozens of Back to the Future jokes that occurred to us when we sat down to write this, but for the sake of retaining some small scrap of dignity, we’ll refrain.

… you’re waiting for a joke, aren’t you?  We said we were going to refrain and we meant it.

… still no jokes.  Seriously.

… we’re not kidding.  Just go visit BTTF.net.  It’s your density… uh, we mean destiny.
