Supply Ways Launches New Volusion Store

Posted: Monday, May 3, 2010 in Office Supplies, Volusion Site Design

We design, develop and launch so darn many stores that every once in a while, one escapes the notice of this remorseful blogger.  SupplyWays.com is just such a site.

You’ll see that under the category tags for this post, it’s listed under: Site Launches – Office Supplies, but that’s only because we don’t have an “Everything Supplies” category.  Basically, if you have a business that requires supplies of any kind, Supply Ways should be able to hook you up.  Healthcare, Janitorial, Manufacturing, Office… the list just goes on and on.

So, we offer a heartfelt (and belated) congratulations to SupplyWays.com on their new Volusion store!

Today happens to be the 23rd birthday of Office Furniture Concepts and what better way to celebrate than with a brand, spanking new Volusion site?

Boasting one of the largest collections of office furniture and accessories that we’ve ever seen, Office Furniture Concepts stands ready to fill every workplace-related need you can imagine… including seating for big & tall folks (which, we must admit, we didn’t even know existed).

So to the fine folks at Office Furniture Concepts, we say happy birthday and welcome to the Brand Labs family!

Google Makes Waves

Google-Wave-Logo-540x432So, a good number of people in our office just spent far too much time playing with Google Wave.

… well, “playing” may not be the right word.  What’s that word that means, “inviting each other to participate in a new technology of which we have yet to determine the usefulness”?

Anyhoo, Google’s new tool, which is intended to improve productivity and communication on a mass scale, has yet to prove itself within the walls of this office.  I will personally give five dollars to the first person who can explain to me (in any sort of compelling way) why I should be using this darn thing.  Fo’ reals.

… and I refuse to incorporate “blip” into my vocabulary.  Suck on that, Google.

Cartridge Zoom Launches With a Little Something Extra

Posted: Wednesday, November 11, 2009 in Office Supplies, Volusion Apps and Plugins, Volusion Site Design

Cartridge_ZoomAmong our many recent site launches is CartridgeZoom.com.  Providing ink and toner cartridges for nearly every type of printer you can imagine, they presented us with a merchandising challenge that grew quickly into a custom development challenge.

Cartridge Zoom was looking for a way for their customers to be able to search for their printer’s replacement cartridge in a variety of ways.  That meant that for each manufacturer, we needed to provide a way to search by series and by part number.  When you take into account the sheer number of different printers on the market today, that challenge seems insurmountable.  Of course, any site search tool could get the job done (in an inelegant way) but the results provided by site search tools can be confusing where part numbers are concerned.  That’s where our Custom Development team came into the picture.

We created a pair of custom search drop downs that fit into the category header for each brand.  This had the benefit of allowing the customer to easily isolate parts related to their printer with a greater likelihood of success on their first try, eliminating the frustration customers often feel when trying to find a very specific item.  This dramatically decreases the time required for conversion, making the shopping experience a pleasure and encouraging repeat business.

We don’t just make Custom Development solutions; we make business solutions.

… and websites.  We make websites, too.

We understand that the sight of half of our staff dressed as pirates, voodoo dolls and characters from Farmville may not necessarily inspire confidence, but please bear in mind that there’s a pretty good chance that this picture was taken on Halloween, so we’re hoping that you’ll give us the benefit of the doubt; though it should be noted that the guy in the middle isn’t wearing a costume… he just happens to be an enormous baby.  It’s a medical thing.  Try not to stare.

Microsoft Strikes Back at Google with FREE MS Office

Posted: Wednesday, July 15, 2009 in Business

Yesterday, in a fairly blatant attempt to regain some of the market share that had been stolen away by Google Docs, Microsoft announced that a free, limited version of the MS Office suite would be made available online in 2010. Say what you will about the Google/Microsoft war, but it seems that a little heated competition is good for the consuming public… especially the cheapskates.

FilingSupplies.com Relaunches With a New Look

Posted: Wednesday, July 1, 2009 in Office Supplies, Volusion Site Design

Filing-SuppliesFilingSupplies.com, which (not surprisingly) sells filing supplies, relaunched their Volusion store this week with a new design by Brand Labs. Put simply, if you have any filing needs (and we do mean any filing needs), they’ve got you covered. Just looking at their site makes us long for our junior high Trapper Keeper with the white tiger and the laser beams on the cover. Man, that thing was awesome…

Welcome to the Brand Labs family, FilingSupplies.com!
